Owner, Jason Bosch said that when he purchased this established business in 2023, “I knew that the ladies who worked here had relationships with the community.” He believes that building relationships is the foundation of a thriving business. The employees at Steamers Cleaners concur. Karen Reis has been with the company for 18 years. She staffs the front counter and is the smiling face that customers know and trust. She said, “I’m a people person. My customers know me and they love that we do quality work. We care about your clothes.” Maria Gatelin has been with Steamers Cleaners for 34 years, since its inception in Realto and is committed to the promise of quality work and relationship building. “We work together as a team here,” she said, including pressers Irene Benegas and Ana Rubalcaba.
Although Bosch lives in Palm Desert, he is connected to Yucaipa through his children who live in our community. He stated, “I like being here in Yucaipa. I like doing my business here.” Bosch’s business includes a 30-year career in real estate. He earned an M.A. in business administration at the University of Laverne and taught real estate licensing and investment at Victor Valley College.
His real estate career and investment experience are what led to the purchase of Steamers Cleaners in Yucaipa. He said, “I have a friend in L.A. who owned a laundromat and I thought it was a good investment idea.” The purchase of a laundromat did not materialize, but he heard about a dry cleaning business for sale. When Bosch was a child, his father managed a dry cleaning business and he had memories of his dad being overworked and underpaid. When he discovered the business was in Yucaipa, he said, “I took a chance. It was like bringing my dad into my business.”
Steamers Cleaners offers quality at a fair price. They use the newest technology and methodology to clean nearly any item: leathers, furniture cushions, bedding, designer purses and shoes, as well as cleaning and pressing clothing. Bosch said, “We label ourselves as fine dry cleaners. There is so much that goes into cleaning and maintaining a garment. We take pride in our work.” They also offer delivery service.
Steamers Cleaners is located in the Yucaipa Valley Center at 33562 Yucaipa Blvd. They are open Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM and Saturday from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
