Linda Ruiz, Care Coordinator at Right At Home, found her life’s work over 7 years ago when she went back East to care for her ailing father. While she cared for him with great love, she realized that she needed help to address his daily needs. She said, “I vowed on the plane ride back to California that I would become the person that I wanted for my dad.” She applied to Right At Home immediately and her experience working in an assisted living facility helped her land a job she loves.
Right At Home is a national in-home care company providing a range of care options for seniors and adults with disabilities. In Yucaipa, Right At Home is independently owned and operated by Lisa and Terry Jeffers. Linda Ruiz is one of several care coordinators who assess clients’ needs, develop an individualized care plan, and identify the right caregiver. Ruiz said, “When we assess our clients’ needs, we then match the client to the perfect carer based on the person’s energy, personality, likes and dislikes. We follow up making sure they are happy. That’s what sets Right At Home apart.”
Providing clients with the best care includes preparing meals, light houskeeping, medical reminders and transportation services. The goal of caregiving is to have clients age at home with dignity and grace. According to Ruiz, the caregivers at Right At Home want to relieve the sole family caregiver by assisting in the activities of daily living.
Ruiz is a SoCal native, born and raised in Fontana. She now lives in Yucaipa and is married with 1 adult son. Her dedication and the joy she finds in her job show in her radiant smile. “It comes from my heart. I can connect with people and my work makes me know at the end of each day that I’ve touched somebody’s life. It’s so gratifying to me.
